- It is reported that Nathaniel was the first white child born in Musketa Cove, Long Island, New York and it pleased the Indians "so well" that they gave him 100 acres of land. On April 18, 1694 his father deeded as a free gift 50 acres to him. Tamar (Coles) was the daughter of Robert and Mercy (Wright) Coles and sister to Mercy Coles, wife of Benjamin Carpenter. This whole family was of "The Friends Society".On April 16,1719, Nathaniel and his wife Tamar for 700 Pounds sell ther property to Thomas Pearsall and remove " North Castle near Rye. " (NY)A blacksmith and large landowner, he was prominent in the affairs of the plantation at Musketa Cove. He later moved to Westchester County, NY where he was a Captain in the Militia.DEATH: "Capt. Nathaniel Carpenter of Northcastle, NY, West Co., NY, deceased.A Carpenter.
